Tom Brady vs Drew Brees part three as both teams meet one of their NFC South teams. The Saints hold the aces in the series with winning both games by a big margin. The oldest quarterback battle commences on Sunday evening as the last game of the weekend at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans. This one should be a thriller in the Divisional Round.Â
The Bucs coming into this game probably feel pumped up after an exhilarating win against Washington. Tom Brady played perfect and wasn’t ready to lose in the Wild Card again. The receivers had a handful of drops but otherwise the offense was downright spectacular. But that was Washington, now it’s the New Orleans Saints against whom they’ve struggled against in the season. The first one was a 23-34 loss and the second one was a 38-3 brutal loss at home. This is the team they have had the most problems with. Tom Brady had thrown 5 total interceptions in those two games and was not on his game. The whole team wasn’t in fact. The Saints are an aggressive defense and it is hard to take deep shots against those breathtaking cornerbacks and safeties. If Brady wants to keep his hunt alive for his seventh Super Bowl ring he will have to play loads better than the first two. It’s not only the offense that is playing average against the Saints it is also the defense. That defense has been frightening all year but they seem to shut down against New Orleans. If they want to win this game they have to step up a few notches in how they play or else it will be a long night for them. This is the Bucs chance to prove how powerful they can be by beating their division rival.
The Saints are piling good news on good news in the last few weeks. They got speedy Deonte Harris and Brees’s favorite Michael Thomas. Those two receivers led the yards and catches last week against the Bears and were quite useful to Drew Brees. They also got defensive end Troy Hendrickson who is a key player to the defense. You can’t forget about Alvin Kamara though. He had such good games in his last two appearances and is playing remarkably well. He will be an important ingredient in the recipe Sean Payton cooks up to beat Bruce Arians passing and rushing. In both he is so talented. I believe he will be able to shatter the Tampa Bay defense and go right through them. The Saints are looking good and strong right now so let’s see if they can make it three wins against Tampa Bay in the season.
I expect the Saints to win this game 34-24. The Saints average of scoring when they play the Bucs is 36 so they will score somewhere around that again. This is the team they thrive against. They have a healthy roster so that should be impactful to the game. Tom Brady just gets shut down by them. He loves to pass to Mike Evans but Evans gets covered by Marshon Lattimore and he plays stupendously. Evans only has 5 catches for 66 yards and a touchdown in the two games against New Orleans which is very surprising compared to the other games he had played. If they want to win they need to get Evans up and running and take advantage of opportunities they get because the Saints defense doesn’t give up a lot of those chances. It will be a fantastic game full of excitement in New Orleans, Louisiana. Â
The two best teams in the NFC South come upon each other one final time but lets see who wins this time. Will Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to the Superdome playing like a group full of legends or will Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints make it 3-0 against Tampa Bay? We’ll find out on a Sunday Evening from the home of the Saints, New Orleans.
THE END
Saints are the favorites, but Brady might pull off a surprise win.
