In the last few years I feel that there are 2 teams who have been the most successful in the NHL. In my opinion Tampa Bay Lightning and the Vegas Golden Knights have consistently performed well in the NHL starting from the 2017-18 Stanley Cup Playoffs. These teams are also in this year’s 2 Conference Finals and it would be fantastic if they meet in the Stanley Cup Final. What a series that would be.
The Golden Knights are a fairly new team in the NHL and have shown great performance ever since. Their goaltender has obviously been a life-saver but they added more pieces to their team. Stone and Pacioretty came the season after they lost in the Final, Alex Pietrangelo came to help out the defense. Pete DeBoer has been an amazing coach to make this new team into a top 5 team in the NHL. This fanbase has been a big part of their success and gives rocket fuel to them. If you look deeper into this team, they are stacked. All 4 lines can score, every player can score and make opportunities. They have so much depth which leads them to wins. They will continue to get better and are a team to watch out for in the NHL.
The Lightning kind of went through the same process as the Knights. The only difference is that they won the Stanley Cup while Vegas lost. In 2019, they got swept by the Columbus Blue Jackets which really taught them a lesson. Next year, they came out and won the Stanley Cup. Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov were the leaders for them in all that winning. They make it hard on the opponent and play fantastic hockey. It is hard to beat them and in the last few years, I feel they’ve been one of the best in the league.
These two teams are marvelous and I would love to watch this matchup in the Final. It would probably be one of the most memorable playoff series. The Vegas Golden Knights and the Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to play each other in the Final series of this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.
