The Canadiens have two youngsters who have been a big part of their quest for the Cup. Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield have had an amazing playoff year and will be fantastic players in future years. Cole Caufield has done the scoring while Suzuki has done a little bit of everything. These two have developed some good chemistry with each other and Tyler Toffoli who also plays on the top line.
Caufield exploded in the series vs Vegas. He had 4 goals in that series. He was drafted in 2019 but went to his college Wisconsin to practice for 2 more years before coming to the NHL. He is a hungry goalscorer and scores when he gets a chance. Those 2 years at Wisconsin helped him and now he is a speedy goalscorer in the best hockey league in the world. He understands the game and where to be on the ice. He is a tremendous shooter and skater and he is a future icon for the Habs.
Suzuki was drafted by the Golden Knights but never played for them. He was traded to Montreal for their captain at the time, Max Pacioretty. Suzuki became a big part of the Habs and he will be on the ice for a long time. He has blocked shots, made passes, checked guys, and scored goals in these playoffs. He has done everything and has been fairly good in the faceoff circle. He deserves to play on the top line with Toffoli and Caufield because he is a playmaker. He is highly skilled and has a lot of talent which will be looked upon in the Stanley Cup Final. That Pacioretty trade worked out super nicely for the Canadiens. Caufield and he are a dynamic duo who are both young and have many many years left in the league if they stay healthy.
Both of these players are going to be superstars and fabulous hockey players. Can they continue their greatness in the final series vs Lightning? Will they be able to bring the Cup? I certainly hope so.
