In Primetime on Sunday Night, it’s an AFC West Duel as the Kansas City Chiefs visit Allegiant Stadium and the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs have won two in a row in some narrow games and are trying to make it 3 in Vegas. The Raiders have faced some problems as Jon Gruden quit after the NFL discovered some emails he had sent during the years between 2011 to 2018 and had racist, homophobic and misogynistic overtones. A few weeks after that, Henry Ruggs was charged with DUI and killing a lady in a car crash. He was driving in triple digits and killed a 23 year old lady. He will face years in prison and was released from the Raider’s team. The Raiders over the last month have lost their head coach and one of their best receivers.
Mahomes hasn’t been particularly good this season but in the last two games, has been good enough to get the win in two home games. I think they can flip their season over in a good way with a win on Sunday and bounce back from a not so great opening. He definitely has to get more accurate and just has to play simple football. Each team knows if they play two deep safeties, it shuts down the deep shot. Mahomes has guys like Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill who can turn short passes into big yardage. Forcing footballs downfield isn’t going to help them so they have to stick to shorter throws and avoiding interceptions. But at the same time, if they do get a chance for a long shot, they should take advantage. I still believe in the Chiefs and think they can flip the script. Their potential is second to none and Andy Reid will definitely figure out how to win some games.
The Raiders have dealt with some problems but are still tied for 1st in the AFC West. They have playmakers like Derek Carr, Darren Waller, and Josh Jacobs who can cause problems for the defense. When you see the names on this team, you might ask “are they actually good?”, they might not have famous names but have amazing talent. Last season, they had some really interesting games like the win over the Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium. This season, they opened up the season with an impressive 3-0 start but since then, they have been up and down. They can be dangerous so the Chiefs defense has to be alert on Sunday Night.
I believe the Kansas City Chiefs will win this game by the score of 27-23. They are on a two game winning streak and played pretty well in those two games. If the Raiders do win, they have to be creative and do things the defense can’t stop. This game rests on the shoulders of Patrick Mahomes and if he does good, KC does good. If he throws interceptions and they do a lot of turnovers, the Raiders are going to win this game. He’s going to have to create some magic to win this football game.
I believe we are going to have a fun Sunday night while watching the Chiefs and the Raiders in an AFC West Duel. Can Mahomes & Co. outplay Las Vegas in Primetime or will the Raiders add another dent in the Chief’s season with a win in front of their fans? We will find out very soon on NBC in a very big Week 10 game of the NFL.
