The NFC games should be special and should be close. We get to watch an Eagles vs Giants division battle on Saturday Night and a rematch of last year’s Wild Card game between the Cowboys and the 49ers. It should be a breathtaking 2 games and I’m really looking forward to both of them.
On Saturday Night from Lincoln Financial Field, the New York Giants visit the 1st seed Philadelphia Eagles in a playoff clash. The Eagles are coming off a bye week while the Giants fought their way to silence Minneapolis and beat the Vikings. The Giants are probably the playoff team I’m most impressed with so far. Saquon had a big game last week and had himself 2 touchdowns. Hodgins and Slayton also played well and totaled 12 receptions, 193 receiving yards, and a touchdown between the two of them. They stepped up in the receiver role and made some big plays against the Vikings defense. Daniel Jones was my star of the Wild Card Round. He threw for 301 yards, two touchdowns, and also ran for 78 yards. He was stellar and vision is what impressed me. He ran the ball when there was space and knew what to do when. He was composed and led this team to a thrilling victory at U.S. Bank Stadium. In the 1st meeting against the Eagles, Philly’s run game went wild. The defense has to do a really good job and hold the Eagles to as many field goals as possible. I’m not worried about how Jones will play but am keeping an eye out for the Giants defense. Is third time the charm for the Giants against the Eagles? The Eagles were the best team for most of the season but they haven’t been great in their last three weeks. Jalen Hurts wasn’t great against the Giants in Week 18 when NY was resting most of its starters and didn’t look like himself. If the Eagles can balance the run game and passing game, I think they’ll win this game. They have such talented players in all departments and they have to use all of them. I believe that the Eagles will win this game 30-24 in overtime. I feel like it’ll be close but the Eagles will just edge Brian Daboll’s team. They have more skilled players and even though Jalen Hurts is not 100%, the Eagles are better all around. This game is available to watch on FOX at 8:15 PM on Saturday.
The final Divisional Round game is the Cowboys visiting the 49ers. Both teams scored a lot of points in the Wild Card game and got comfortable wins. Dak Prescott marveled in the Wild Card game against the Bucs. He posted a superb stat line and it was one of his best performances all season. He tore the Buccaneers defense and looked dominant. They managed the game very well and balanced everything. The run game got 128 yards, Dak threw for 305 yards, and they complimented that with 5 touchdowns. They looked hard to beat and if they can play like this against the 49ers, it will be a close game. The ground game will be a key for Dallas and they have to at least try to run the ball against San Francisco’s defensive front. Dallas can’t make any mistakes and will have to be at their best against Kyle Shanahan’s formidable team. Against the Seahawks, the 49ers rode a strong 2nd half to easily win 41-23. In this game, we saw Deebo Samuel’s true colors. He racked up 165 total yards and just obliterated Seattle. It was an all around performance from them because they got 332 passing yards and 181 rushing yards. Brock Purdy in his 1st playoff game looked fantastic and it seems like no moment can shake him up. He got himself a great playoff debut and already looks like he has been in the league for quite some time. Aiyuk was quiet in this game but I don’t think that will be the case against Dallas. I feel like the Cowboys will cover Deebo more which will leave Aiyuk more open and more space. Every area of the Niners game is stunning and we will see a good performance from them. I believe that the 49ers will win this game 30-26. Dak was epic against the 49ers but he is now facing a tough San Fran defense. I don’t see the Cowboys beating this stacked 49ers team and the 49ers will go to the NFC Conference Championship. This game can be viewed on FOX at 6:30 PM on Sunday.
Jalen Hurts has a chance to beat the Giants for the 3rd time this season while Brock Purdy has a chance to shine against the Cowboys. Will Danny Dimes stun Philadelphia and bring his team a game away from the Super Bowl? Can America’s team upset the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night? We’ll only have two NFC teams left soon enough and which ones will it be?
