The Sunday Night game for Week 5 was between 2 really good teams but it was a pretty disappointing game. There was so much anticipation building up between the Cowboys and 49ers but it was a real lackluster performance by Dallas. They got crushed 42-10 and the 4th quarter felt like a preseason game. Both teams had their backups in and it was a finished game by the time the last quarter rolled in.
For the Cowboys, it was a horrible performance and they got completely embarrassed on primetime. They still haven’t shown us that they can play and win against good football teams like the 49ers. Dak Prescott struggled mightily and had a 3 interception night. They couldn’t get the passing game going and the run game struggled as well. This team relies on their defense way too much and the offense has to step up. When you play against San Francisco, you need to be able to score points or else you’ll get defeated heavily. Dallas has Lamb and Pollard but they’re just not using their weapons enough. The Cowboys have to get their stars involved, it could be a screen pass, a quick throw, but they have to get the football in the hands of game changing players. The Dallas defense was on the field for way too long and the offense couldn’t get any sustained possession. San Francisco had the ball for 37:05 minutes compared to Dallas’ 22:55 minutes. That’s a huge gap and the offense couldn’t help out their defense at all. The Cowboys play the Chargers on Monday Night next so I want to see a big improvement from the entire team.
That performance by the 49ers was special and it was a statement win. They obliterated the awesome Dallas defense and the defense gave Dak absolutely nothing. Brock Purdy was efficient and he got the job done to crush the Cowboys 42-10. The incredible thing about San Francisco is that they can play so many different ways. We’ve seen them rack up the points, play a defensive game, play high tempo, play slow, and play gritty which makes this team so hard to beat. They have good players everywhere and you have to be on your A game to beat this team. I thought it was a tremendous effort all around from San Francisco and it was a big win for them in primetime.
Dallas’ four turnovers didn’t help them at all and it was a rough night in the Bay Area for Dak Prescott and Co. For the Niners, they put up a great show at home for their fans as they keep cruising 5 weeks into the NFL Season.
