NFL AFC Divisional Rounds Match Prediction- Cleveland Browns vs Kansas City Chiefs

Welcome to Kansas City for the Divisional Rounds!! This game at Arrowhead stadium is probably the best game of the weekend. The Browns coming into this game upset the Steelers with a marvelous performance. The defense had 5 takeaways and really gave the offense a path to follow. Meanwhile, the Chiefs had a first round bye so they got some extra weeks of relaxation before this battle. The 1st game on Sunday will be played in Arrowhead stadium and the winner of this game will play the winner of the Bills/Ravens which is on primetime on Saturday.

The Browns offense and defense have been playing excellent. Baker Mayfield had a turnover and sack free night against Pittsburgh which is great. It is important moving forward because if Kansas City gets a turnover they will stack more points in front of you so Mayfield and that offense needs to score moolah. They have great players from splendid running backs to great receivers. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt their two backs have been great all year and are hard-working players. They have the moves, speed, and yards after contact. Kansas City brings plenty of extra blitz so they will be one of the options for the passing game. Talking about Baker Mayfield again, he has a lot skills. He can use his legs a lot unlike Tom Brady or Drew Brees and escape pressure and he could even run the ball himself. He has throwing ability and is similar to Ryan Tannehill, maybe not as many deep balls now with Odell Beckam Jr. on the injured reserve but his skills are like Tannehill’s. He has been playing much better then the last few years and broke the spell in which they were under. They beat the Steelers and can beat the Super Bowl champs, they can’t allow Mahomes to find his right gear because then he becomes invincible. Two more games to make it to the Super Bowl and the Cleveland Browns are rocking and rolling.

The Chiefs coming in to this game are the favorites. They have been so competitive and played so well this season. You can think of Mahomes being the G.O.A.T in a few years time. He is already so good and is probably the Chiefs franchise quarterback because he is young and is magical. He is so athletic and can get out of jams, run the ball, and his throwing ability is crazy good. That is why he has Tyreek Hill, arguably the fastest player in the NFL, if not faster than Usain Bolt. Mahomes is a smart player and doesn’t throw the ball away unless their is no hope left on the play. Even if their is a glimmer of hope on the play he will find a man and get yards. This is how Mahomes operates; in the pocket looking for a man, pressure comes and he rolls out, the defender goes after him but he jukes him and buys himself a bit of time, then he launches and fires a 25 yard pass to Travis Kelce. He does not give up easily, even if Aaron Donald from the Rams and Cameron Jordan from the Saints are chasing him. He can make a nothing into something, that is why he is a special athlete. In this game, he is up against Myles Garrett one of the Browns best players who will make Mahomes uncomfortable and pressure him. It will be a game where Mahomes will have to not throw any interceptions and play how he usually does, like a superstar. I am also looking for a strong run game from Le’Veon Bell and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. It will give Mahomes a bit of relief and a break if the run can get going. The Chiefs are not a run team but I believe that it should be evenly split in this game. Even though Mahomes rarely makes mistakes it would be good for them if the run can provide some juice. The Chiefs are on road to glory. The best team in the NFL are them.

I think the Kansas City Chiefs will win 31-24. They are a stacked team full of play-making players and are very hard team to beat. Mahomes has improved so much in is few seasons in the NFL and is hard to sack now. The Chiefs are on a roll and the Browns won’t be able to stop them. The Browns will play good football just not enough to pull of a upset in Kansas City. Kansas City has evolved so much with Mahomes on their team now when you think about it they are like the Patriots, inescapable. Eric Bieniemy is a very creative offensive coordinator and is so innovative with the plays he develops. I believe that the Chiefs have the power to make it to the Conference Championship 3 straight years in a row and eliminate one of the scary teams remaining in the playoffs.

The third out of 4 games in the Divisional Rounds is a very thrilling clash and it will be gripping from start to finish. Can Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns come out of the locker room ready to win against the champions or will Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs find their magic and demolish the game? We will find out on a Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri.

I sure am excited for this game as most of you would be…..
