Tottenham, who gave up a 1-0 lead to Manchester United to lose 3-1, travel to Goodison Park to play Everton on a Friday afternoon. It’s a short week for the Toffees because they played on Monday and now four days later. Both teams are coming off bad results and are trying to bounce back into the top 5 race in this epic TGIF match. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison of Everton take on Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min as both these teams have spectacular duos.
Tottenham collapsed in the 2nd Half vs Man United. First they got saved by VAR in the controversial McTominay and Son call which should’ve been a fair goal, then they scored with a good counter-attacking play, and Lastly, they allowed three goals in the 2nd Half to lose. They would have scored more if Harry Kane had the chance to pull the trigger more and get a shot on target. They have to get him more into the game because he is an absolute scoring machine. The defense can’t allow Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin to get behind them or else it is going to be 10-0 because these two are very talented. Everton fuel on them so the Spurs have to shut them down to make it easier on themselves. This is a big game for this team to try to win against one of the top teams in this league. Jose Mourinho has a lot to prove in this huge game.
Everton’s last three results have not been ideal. First, they lost to Burnley at home, then tied to Crystal Palace at home, and lastly they tied to Brighton away. They are also having home problems like Liverpool and have to start getting better at their own field. They’ve lost and tied to teams that they should have gotten better results and if they want to qualify for European Soccer for next year, they have to pick up their play. They are not out of the race but would’ve been more in the race if they would have won those last 3 games. Right now, they are playing like they don’t want the Europa or Champions League and desperately need a home win vs Son, Kane, and the Spurs. They face a tough team which is a terror offensively so they can’t do silly things and take big risks. Tottenham are amazing on the counter so the Toffees need to get settled in back and shouldn’t be caught out. If they want to fight for the top 6, they need a win this afternoon.
I believe Tottenham Hotspur will win this Friday afternoon Premier League by the score of 2-1. I thought they played well vs United on Sunday and found space. In this game, their finishing should be better and they can’t waste the space they have. Everton haven’t had that much time to practice and their confidence is probably low because of the last couple results. Liverpool are finding their confidence now so it will be harder for the Spurs and they have easier fixtures coming up so this soccer team will have to get strong results in this last stretch.
Can the Everton Toffees grab an important win at home or will they get lost by the amazing Spurs duo and lose? Both teams need a win here. Who will get it? We will find out on Friday at 3:00pm EST on NBCSN.
