The start of the new Premier League season is less than two weeks away and it should be super exciting. The newly promoted teams from the EFL Championship league are Brentford, Watford, and Norwich City. It should be a blast of fun till the middle of next May.
Some new players in the league are big names in the soccer world like Raphael Varane from France who used to play for Real Madrid until Man United signed him this summer. He is a fantastic defender and one United have needed for a long time. Him and Harry Maguire will be a consistent centre-back duo and will really solidify their defense as those two are flanked by Wan-Bissaka and Shaw. If they want to win a title this year or soon, they need a world class centre-back like Varane. Another player new to the league and is making his return to the Premier League is English right wing Jadon Sancho. He played for Man City for 2 years, then went to Dortmund for 4 years, and now comes to the other Manchester team. He will be a key part to the attacking for United and his skill will really come in handy. I’m sure he will be excited to come back to his home country England. These two players for United will make a big impact which could possibly win them the trophy.
Another thing that will be different this year is packed stadiums instead of empty ones. England’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that they will return to full crowds like we were accustomed to until the pandemic arrived and it will be more lively in these stadiums now. Just think how energetic the crowd at a Manchester Derby would be. These players will love the atmosphere in these stadiums.
I’d say the three biggest contenders for the title are Man City, Man United, and Liverpool. United added key pieces to their team which should benefit them. I thought Liverpool were marvelous at the end of the season and will continue that strong end from last season into this season. City won the title last campaign and are dangerous every single season. These three teams are the most to watch out for this season and will surely put on a clinic on the pitch.
These 380 games of the new upcoming season should be action-packed and super to watch. It should be a close race for the top spots and the title this year. Which team will gh at the beginning of the season?
