Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens host Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in Primetime on Sunday Night Football. The Chiefs made a comeback vs Cleveland in their opening game while Batlimore lost in Overtime to the Las Vegas Raiders. Lamar Jackson lost two fumbles in that game including one in Overtime which led Las Vegas to the Game winning touchdown.
The Chiefs and Mahomes rallied back vs the Browns to win 33-29 and scored thirteen in the 4th to win by four. Mahomes threw three touchdowns and rushed one himself which totals a fantastic game for him. Last season, the Chiefs beat the Ravens 34-20 in M&T Bank stadium in Baltimore. Mahomes threw four touchdowns to four different people and ran one himself in that football game. They were offensively perfect and the defense only gave up 97 passing yards to Lamar. The key for them against this team is to close down and complete tackles when Lamar J is on the move. Don’t let him do spins and juke out your whole team. Force him to throw the football and don’t let Hollywood Brown ( Marquise Brown) loose. It should be fun watching Mahomes against the Baltimore defensive tackles and the Kansas City defense against Lamar Jackson’s running and throwing capabilities.
Jackson can become the most dangerous quarterback in the game if he balances his running and throwing. He has both skills but needs to pass more. This year, he has Brown and Sammy Watkins who just came to Baltimore. He has more options and has to use them along with his crazy running back-like talent. The defense has to be better than last time these two met. I think they should play with two deep safeties and shut down the deep Hill throw. Man Coverage is never going to work against Kansas City simply because they have speed, the best tight end in the league, and arguably the best QB in the NFL. The only thing the Ravens can’t do is play one on one coverage. They can do anything else but should not in a million years play one on one with the Chiefs receivers. Another thing they should not do a lot of is bring pressure to Mahomes. Don’t blitz him because he will just dangle out of it and become magic Mahomes. The Ravens have a team full of talent and have to use that in this exciting contest.
I believe the Kansas City Chiefs will win this battle 31-27. It’s not going to be easy against the Ravens. The Ravens will do better than last season but won’t be able to beat Patrick Mahomes. He is unstoppable against every defense in the league except the Superbowl Bucs. Whatever thing you try to do against him, he will find a new way and make the defense scratch their head. The Ravens are a great team but not great enough to beat this MVP quarterback and his stacked team.
Will the Chiefs move to 2-0 with a win against the amazing Lamar Jackson or will the Ravens upset the 2019 Super Bowl champs? We will find out in primetime on Sunday night as the spectacular quarterbacks duel each other.
