Thomas Tuchel tries to stay unbeaten this season against City as they host the defending Premier League Champions at Stamford Bridge. Tuchel, since signing with Chelsea last year hay’s not lost a game vs Man City. He has been a mastermind vs Pep till now. City are trying to bounce back after an unexpected home draw vs Southampton. Chelsea on the other hand had a fantastic 3-0 win over their rivals Tottenham at Hotspur stadium. Two big clubs clash to open up Matchweek 6 of the Premier League.
City surprisingly lost to Southampton in a scoreless draw and only managed to get 1 shot on goal in the entire game which came at the 90th minute. It was probably their worst game of the season as they had no real threat to Southampton. Credits to Southampton to their defense but they shouldn’t be tying and not scoring against this team. They have to be creative against a rock solid Chelsea led by their ace Romelu Lukaku or else will get flattened out. If someone shadows Lukaku, then it will take away an option and Chelsea will have to improvise. This game is going to test Manchester City and they have to play a patient game of soccer in this one.
Chelsea have started this season the best out of anyone in the league. They have beaten two of their big rivals, held Liverpool scoreless after the Reece James red card at Anfield, and to finish it off, they are at the top of the league. Lukaku has fit right in unlike Timo Werner when he came. They’ve only given up 1 goal this season which came with a Salah penalty which is pretty nice considering that they don’t have the most expensive and world class defenders. Talking about their defense, they have to put an extra eye on Jack Grealish. He is such a good player and can has a lot of talent inside him. He can draw fouls because of the way he moves because he is so talented. I expect Chelsea to put on a real show for the fans watching at Stamford Bridge and expect a clinic from them vs the defending champions.
I believe Chelsea will win this soccer game by the score of 2-0. I feel they are better than Man City in all areas right now and are the best team in the league. I think it will be another clean sheet for Edouard Mendy in this league. Man City haven’t had the best season yet which is rare for them. This is pretty much the same team as last year but just seem different. Chelsea are so creative with the way they play and can stretch out the opponent like dough. They have people who can run, people you can finish, and people who can pass. They have areas of strength everywhere which makes it so hard to beat them.
Chelsea and Manchester City meet early in the morning at 7:30 AM EST U.S time at the Blues home. Will Manchester City will end Chlesea’s unbeaten streak and get revenge for what the Blues did at the UCF final or will Chelsea continue to amaze all Premier League fans?
