This game at FedEx Field in Maryland might seem one sided but it is actually not.
The Washington Football Team(WFT) have really proved over the course of this season that they are underdogs one shouldn’t underestimate. They handed the Steelers their first loss of the season which led them to a 3 game losing slide and before that game they thrashed the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving day by a score of 41-16. Alex Smith has proven himself worthy as they played much better with him as quarterback. They have a real challenge against the good defensive Tampa Bay. Quick passes will be the key for Smith because the Buccaneers defensive front is strong and quick and won’t give him much time to sit back in the pocket. Instead, they will show no mercy and swallow him up for a sack. Alex Smith will have to produce the things for the offense because the run game will get them nowhere. It will be a football game which will push them to their longest lengths and test how far they can hold before breaking apart.
It will not be a piece of cake for Tom Brady and his team in this game though. Chase Young, Washington’s first rounder in the draft has boosted Washington to places they would never have thought they could reach and is a rookie with great talent. Tom Brady might not have his favorite receiver Mike Evans in the game but still would have electrifying players Chris Godwin and their new recruit, NFL star Antonio Brown. Those two guys will find themselves in a lot of action if Evans doesn’t play. Brady can’t take anymore mistakes this year and he has to be on target because it cost him last year in the Wild Card against the Tennessee Titans when he was with the Patriots. It is an important game in his career and Buc’s fans probably want to advance deeper into the playoffs. This game will pretty much determine if he was the player a few years back with 6 Super Bowl rings on his fingers or not. He is a player which people expect a lot from and he needs to put a worthy performance against Washington.
I think the Washington Football Team will win this game by a score of 24-21. As a Washington fan you would think I would say that but they had few remarkable things this year. They had defeated the unbeaten Steelers when they were away, season swept the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, and got Alex Smith back from a 2+ year injury, and ended up with a lovely defensive end named Chase Young. I think they can pull of a cannot believe upset and destroy Tom Brady’s hopes like how the Titan’s did last year. To me, they kind of seem similar to the Titans like how the Titans changed their quarterback somewhere around the middle of the season last year and that was the game changer for them. Coming into last years playoffs the Titans were huge underdogs but beat the odds against them and put up a strong fight against Kansas City for the AFC Championship but lost. Washington is somewhat similar to them and can beat Tampa Bay and earn more respect for themselves from others. They might not be a team we anticipate they are but might prove themselves to be much more than that. I think Tampa’s defense will have the not most ideal day against Washington and will crumble beneath their feet. Tom Brady might make some mistakes. I think he will get heartbroken once again in the Wild Card.
This is Washington’s chance to prove how much they have gotten stronger this season than last season and playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the perfect time to show that. Can the young Washington team upset the legend Tom Brady or will Tom Brady find the magic deep within him?
It sure will be a close and action packed game in Maryland……
THE END
Great analysis!
Alex Smith and Chase Young were the star performers for Washington in the regular season. Let’s hope they win against Tampa Bay tomorrow.
