This rematch between these two teams happens again this year. They played against each other last year in the Divisional Round with the Titans winning 28-12. The Ravens were the top seed last year and got shocked at home against the Titans who were the underdogs coming into that game. Lamar Jackson against Derrick Henry once again to kick off day two of the Wild Card matches. We are in for a close one in Tennessee.
The Titans narrowly clinched their division with a last second of the post field goal from Samuel Sloman and won the game for the Titans 41-38 against the Houston Texans. Derrick Henry reached the 2,000 yard+ mark in the season with a 200+ yards and two touchdowns in that game. He was like The Hulk in running the football this season and is unstoppable. Along with the beautiful running game they have an impressive passing game. Ryan Tannehill the Tennessee quarterback has made that offense much stronger and led them to two straight playoff berths after he replaced Marcus Mariota midway of last season. It will push and challenge him against the great Baltimore pass rush. Those receivers really deserved a QB which they can rely on. They could very well beat Baltimore again and set themselves to the Divisional rounds. Tannehill will have to be precise and on his game because one miscommunication between him and his receivers could lead to an interception or even a pick six so he can’t give the ball to Baltimore’s defense when they are on offense. I think the Titans will play extremely well and start from where they left off last year in the AFC Championship game in the playoffs. The Titans are a team which can easily get on your nerves.
The Baltimore Ravens coming into the game have a five game winning streak which got them into the playoffs. Lamar Jackson played super in the ending of the season rushing and passing. He picked off right where he left off in rushing terms and has been intimidating to teams at times. He will have to put a good mix of both in this game and attempt to give revenge to them for beating them this season and last year in the Divisional Rounds. He did not perform particularly well in those games and lost both of them at home. This is the chance for him to prove his abilities and strengths. He has speedy guys like Marquise Brown which he can rely on for throwing the ball to. He should put everything into this game to avoid being 0-3 against this Tennessee team. The eyes are on him and how he performs in this duel in Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
I think the Titans will win this Wild Card game 31-27. They are a team full of confidence and will get a hat trick of wins against Baltimore in the last two years. Derrick Henry will have a blowout game and add on to his 2000+ rushing yards this season. It takes a mastermind to stop him and even Bill Belichick couldn’t do it. He is a power bull and trying to stop him is not an easy task. He simply is too good. I don’t think Tannehill will have to do much but he will be there when times are desperate. I also think the Ravens are a teeny tiny bit overrated. They started their season weak and bad and should’ve summed up with a little bit of a better record like last season’s 14-2. They are not quite like their invincible selves this year and especially Lamar Jackson. Some teams have been able to figure out his formula and stop him so he has become more vulnerable. I want to see more from his passing half rather than his running half. He has a lot to prove in this game and let’s see if he can do it.
This game catches the headlines in the Wild Card Weekend. Can tricky Lamar Jackson find his way through Tennessee or will the Titans show what they are made of and beat this team on a Sunday Afternoon in Nashville? Let’s wait and see.
