As many of you know, the Houston Texans are having a losing season with the 4-9 record. They just lost terribly to the Chicago Bears and before they lost to the Indianapolis Colts. They’ve had all sorts of bad luck this season. They lost DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller got suspended, had their Head Coach Bill O’ Brien fired, and they’ve had so many stinging injuries to make the team fall flat on the floor.
Their division has also been very competitive.
The Tennessee Titans are just getting better with Derrick Henry the center of it. We saw a preview of how dangerous they can get last season in the second half of the season with the quarterback change. Ryan Tannehill took over for Marcus Mariota and changed the course of their season. They broke Tom Brady’s heart in the Wild Card and then absolutely stunned the top seed Ravens when they were away. They were huge underdogs in both those games and caught the attention of a lot of people. Then in the AFC championship they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs who then went to win the Superbowl but they have grown significantly stronger than they were before. They are underdogs who’ve spiked up in scoring and winning.
The second spectacular team in that division is the Colts. After Andrew Luck retired they didn’t play as well and Jacoby Brissett couldn’t bring much hope to the team last year. But this season they brought in Phillip Rivers who is joining the team together. They are in a tied race with Tennessee for the first spot in the division. They had sad injuries with T.Y Hilton for a while but now he is back they have improved. All their pieces of the team are clicking to make them a very good team. The defense has playing tremendous as they are ranked number one in the league. This team in the AFC South is improving rapidly. They are a big competitor for the playoffs.
Houston won’t make the playoffs this year but next year they need to sign more players and most importantly, a head coach. J.J Watt can’t do everything for the defense. They need to step up because Tennessee and Indianapolis are on the rise.
Eric Bienemy would be an ideal Head Coach option for them. He has benefited the Chiefs and if the Texans bring him to Houston they would have a stronger team.
Houston has had so much success over the last few years. They haven’t won Super Bowls in a while but they get deep into the playoffs. Deshaun Watson is a weapon for them but he needs backup to make this team work effectively. The Houston Texans are a good team in the league but they can get much better.
