Both Arsenal and Liverpool are fighting to be in the top 5 of the Premier League. Arsenal have started winning again and not been dropping points as much but Liverpool still haven’t been like themselves recently. It is a big match in the Premier League year for both these big clubs so let’s see which club will prevail. A win for Arsenal can give them a glimmer of hope for the top 5 and a win for Jurgen Klopp’s squad can take the Reds into 5th place.
I believe that the Reds still stand a chance in this race for the top 5. Their striker which they picked up from the Wolves at the start of the season, Diogo Jota is back so that could freshen up the attack. Liverpool can’t really do anything in the defensive side of things until the summer when their centre-backs get back from injury and they can buy new ones so they have to put their mindset to attack. Salah, Jota, Mane, and Firmino have to start scoring and push this team’s engine in the Premier League. They are doing great in the UEFA Champions League but have to put in a little more effort in this league. There’s only so much you can teach a young player because eventually they adapt to the league but by that time, their hope will be gone if they continue to not focus on the attack. This is a big time for Liverpool to regain their composure and become more hungry for scoring goals and winning big games.
Arsenal advanced to the Quarter-Final in the Europa League and had two very hardworking games in the Premier League before the break. First, they beat their big rivals Tottenham in the North London Derby which got them a much needed three points and after that they made a tremendous comeback from 3-0 down to tie vs West Ham. In the West Ham one, they started terribly with going 3-0 in about 30 minutes because their defense did awful. Saka and Lacazette led them to rally back to tie the game to at least get 1 point. It was a dreadful start but a roaring finish by this whole team. Going into this match, I want to see the defense playing better and Lacazette, Saka, and Aubameyang on the pitch all together. Those three are difference makers and I am interested to see how they will perform all together if Arteta puts them on to start. They are not quite in the race for the top 5 but they can get in there if they end the season with more positive than negative.
I believe Arsenal will win 3-2 at home vs the champions Liverpool. They’ve played Leicester City and Tottenham a few games back and won against both of them. When it matters, this team finds a whole new gear inside of themselves which drives them to huge wins. If they can maintain possession inside the opponents third of the field, that team is in for a lot of defending and blocking because when this team is at it’s best, they can be like Manchester City. It won’t be a top 4 year for them, but it will certainly be a productive and learning year for them.
Can Liverpool win and start competing with the top teams in the league or will the Arsenal Gunners win against another team in the top 6? We will find out very soon as this is a big matchup this Premier League Weekend.
