2022-23 NFL Week 3 Recap

It was another captivating week of the NFL and week 3 brought a few upsets with it. The Indianapolis Colts somehow handed the Chiefs their first loss of the season, the Dolphins continued to dazzle, this time against the Bills, and the Jags blew out the Chargers. The only unbeaten teams in the NFL remain the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles who are both 3-0.

The Miami Dolphins are my biggest surprise of the year. They are the best team in the AFC as of now and all three of their wins have come against hard opponents. They took care of the Pats easily but fought through the Ravens and the Bills, both of which have MVP level quarterbacks. They showed grit and never gave up against Baltimore to come back from 35-14 down to win 42-38. Tua was legendary in that game with the help of Waddle and Hill who both exploded. Next, against Buffalo, they got heavily outplayed in yards but scored the points where it most mattered. The defense set up two turnovers and they finished off Josh Allen to win 21-19.

Meanwhile that game was going on, the Eagles won against the Commanders 24-8. Jalen Hurts looks unbelievable and he is playing like Lamar Jackson 2.0. He is throwing the ball well and has found a lot of success running the ball.  He has 3 rushing touchdowns along with 916 passing yards, the 3rd in the league. A.J Brown has taken up the number one receiver spot and he just tears apart defenses, first in Tennessee, now in Philly. The Eagles look like a complete team and for now, they are flying high.

My 3 X factor players of the week are Trevor Lawrence, Mark Andrews, and Romeo Doubs. Trevor Lawrence completely shredded the star studded Chargers defense which has Khalil Mack. He was turnover free and played the game to perfection. Because of him, the Jags demolished the Chargers 38-10. My next star of the week is Mark Andrews. Because of Marquise Brown leaving Baltimore, Mark Andrews has taken over the receiver spot. Since when is a tight end the number 1 target for a quarterback? He is an epic player and if Lamar Jackson has a good game, you almost know he was involved. Andrews had another explosive game against New England and this trend will definitely continue. My last X factor of the weekend was Packers receiver Romeo Doubs. During the offseason, Green Bay’s receiver spot was completely depleted. They lost Davante Adams and Marquez Valdez-Scantling. Rookie Romeo Doubs has certainly stepped up and maybe has proclaimed his role as a trusted receiver. He helped Green Bay to a gigantic win over Tom Brady and the Bucs.

Week 3 of the season was terrific all the way through and next week we’ll be looking forward to the marquee matchup between Kansas City and the Buccaneers. Can Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen Hurts continue to dominate the league? Who will win in London between the Vikings and Saints?

 THE END
