2022-23 PL Prediction- Arsenal tie vs Man City

On Wednesday from the Emirates Stadium, the top two teams of the Premier League meet one another for the 1st time this season. Arsenal have led City back into the title race and only 3 points separate them now. Arteta’s men have dropped 5 points in the last two, 7 in their last 5 matches. On the City side, it has not been marvelous as well. They have 2 losses in their last 5 games in the EPL and their financial cheating also clouds around them heading into Wednesday.

Man City got a much needed 3 points against Villa on Sunday and it was a good bounce back from their tough defeat at Tottenham. We saw the better of City on Sunday and they need to keep playing the fluid game that we love from Pep’s side. Kevin De Bruyne was excellent in my opinion and he needs to keep changing the game. Haaland is an injury doubt for this game and if he doesn’t play, it will be Alvarez’s chance to shine. Julian Alvarez is very different from Haaland and he poses a really good challenge to the Gunners defensive line. City haven’t really been swift in the way they play and it has been very static. I want to see them exploiting the open space and playing more aggressively. They have to push Arsenal back and not let them control the game. Pep’s team needs a win here and their stars will have to show up.

In the last two games, Arsenal have only scored 1 goal. VAR made a big mistake in the game vs Brentford but these things happen. They have to play better and can’t be dropping points to mid table teams. It seems like their slick football has been figured out and the star players are not delivering. They have to reinvent and find more creativity within. Instead of playing out from the back, I feel like Arsenal have to push upward quickly and give the ball to Saka or Martinelli. They have the speed to hurt City’s defense and create more chances. To keep their position up top, this team has to work hard and a win on Wednesday could be huge.

My prediction is that Manchester City and Arsenal will tie 2-2. Both teams to be honest have been playing pretty average and they are not at their best. It feels like Arsenal have lost their fire and hopefully this game will be a wake up call for them. If Alvarez starts for City, he will score a goal and he will be a real influencer for the Cityzens. In a clash between the top two teams, a rivalry is brewing. This game is available to watch on Peacock at 2:30 PM on Wednesday.

It’s Arsenal’s title to win now, unless City have a response to silence the league leaders. Will Manchester City go even with the Gunners on points or will Arsenal take care of business at home against their fiery competitor? It should be a mouthwatering battle between two of England’s best teams.

 THE END
